Looking back at my life, it's hard to define what I achieved in my first 20 years. What I do know is that I studied hard and played even harder. Growing up in a small town came with its challenges, but happiness and friendship were never in short supply. My childhood was a whirlwind of joy, spent with my two younger brothers and a lively bunch of cousins (one of the perks of having a big family!).
We swam in rivers, climbed trees to grab mangoes, and played endless card games and other childhood favorites. As part of the first batch at my school, there were no seniors to look up to, which pushed me to take on leadership roles early. Being a school captain and house captain in the early grades gave me confidence but also came with its unique set of responsibilities.
Then came my 20s—a decade of heartaches, career-building, and battling stereotypes, both within my family and outside of it. Thankfully, the turmoil had a happy ending when I met and married the man who still makes my heart skip a beat. He’s not only a wonderful husband but also an incredible father.
The 30s brought new adventures as I immigrated to a new country, started a family, and began learning and unlearning life’s many lessons. Raising two beautiful children during this time was both a joy and a journey of growth for me.
And then, the 40s arrived. Call it a midlife crisis or listening to my soul, but I could no longer resist the pull of writing. Balancing motherhood (always my first priority), a full-time job, and my love for storytelling was no easy feat. Yet, with a supportive husband, a loving family, and a circle of amazing friends, I found my rhythm.
Today, I’m thrilled to share my stories with the world, starting with Summer of '93. It’s not just a book—it’s the first chapter in my dream to tell tales waiting to be heard.
Here’s to embracing every phase of life, cherishing its lessons, and daring to pursue the passions that make our hearts sing!
